Coach Pitch Baseball

Danny has started Fall Ball. They use Fall Ball as preparation for the following spring season. This means that Danny is in Coach-Pitch!! He is very excited because he gets to play with the bigger kids and, of course, no T to hit off of. They play all different positions. Danny got to play catcher for the first time with pads.On his 2nd at-bat, he hit a double and the next batter hit him in! He was so proud of himself! It is hard to watch though, because they do "3 strikes and you're out". It's hard to watch the kids get out, which most of them do most of the time. But, practice makes perfect. This will be a great way to get ready for the spring.
We bought Danny his Halloween costume. He has been adamant that he was going to be a soldier for a while. I am going to have Reagan be an Angel. I'd like Amelia to be a devil, but she really wants to be a Princess.

Amelia's first day of Pre-K

Mia had her first day of Pre-K on Wednesday. She was a bit less than excited to go. She has 2 little girls from previous classes with her. This is Mia with her teacher, Ms. Christina. She is young and bubbly, but I have heard that she is a stickler for following rules and a no-nonsense kind of teacher. I hope that is true because I heard Mia tell Ms. Christina "no" a few times on Wednesday! Hopefully tomorrow will be a better day.

Danny's first day of 1st grade

Danny had his first day of 1st grade a few weeks ago. He has the same teacher that he had last year, so there was very little transition. He has quite a few friends in his class and a few new faces. Danny and Ms. Beals.

Reagan

It's a good thing she's cute! In case you wondered where we've been lately- I spend most of my time picking up the stuff that Reagan is pulling out of drawers
or off shelves
or out of the cubbies
or off the table (that's a cantaloupe rind that she is chewing on)
She is into everything these days! But she is still the happiest, easiest baby ever and that's all that matters.

Mia's recital

Mia had her ballet recital last week. She did a great job! She was so proud of herself and even stopped mid-dance to wave to her admirers:) They danced to the Pink Panther theme, thus the lovely pink tutus.

Easter Bunny

Since I never got around to getting a picture of the kids with Santa, I thought I'd better have them visit the Easter Bunny. He was an odd looking bunny, reminded me of the one from Alice in Wonderland. Reagan was clearly unimpressed!

And here is Mia in the outfit she picked for beach day a school- complete with snow boots.

The girls

Here are a few pictures of the girls that I took today. I think it's been a while since I've posted pictures of them. Reagan is sitting up and rolling everywhere. She is trying to crawl, but just keeps pushing herself backwards.

A friend of mine gave us this sweater when I had Reagan. I absolutely love it and put it on her almost every day. It zips up the back, so the hood is snug around her face. She looks like a little head of garlic.
And, of course, one with Danny.

Lacrosse

Danny had his first Lacrosse game today! We were a little concerned because he doesn't seem to pay attention during practice, but he loved it! Here is a picture of him in all his gear. You can tell it is him because he is the only one with a black helmet (he's also the smallest guy out there).Chasing down the ball
Playing attack- look how tiny he is compared to the others
Another action shot- he actually came away with the ball this time!
The game went very fast. Danny played attack and midi a few times and defense once. He really knew all the positions and where he was allowed to go in each position. It was a lot of fun to watch!

Skiinig

I took Danny skiing for the first time yesterday! We have a small ski area about an hour from the house, in Indiana. He took an hour long lesson with 4 other 5-7 year olds. He had a great time! He did well during his lesson. I was not allowed in the lesson area, so I tried to spy on him from another hill.
This is Danny in the blue and black. He is moving, although it doesn't look like it.
In this picture, he is just behind the ski instructor in the pink hat. Again, this is as much of an action shot as I could get. The 5 kids had 2 instructors. One instructor would stand at the top of the hill while the other stood about 1/3 of the way down. The kids would go, one by one, from the first instructor to the next. They made their way down the hill quite a few times this way. It was great! It is amazing how much easier it is for this age, compared to an adult.
And a recent picture of Reagan taking a bath in the sink.

Lacrosse

I signed Danny up for a K-2nd grade Lacrosse team. He is actually very excited about it. Chris took him today to get fitted for his stick and pads. The guys in the lacrosse shop showed Danny how to hold the stick and cradle. He still needs a helmet, but the worker mentioned needing a needle to fit the helmet (pump up the padding?) and he freaked out. He thought they were going to give him a shot. We figure we will revisit the helmet later. He starts practice mid February. In the meantime we are going to work on catching the ball- not easy!I submitted this picture of Reagan to the Regis and Kelly beautiful baby contest. Let's face it- she is a pretty baby.

The Indianapolis Children's Museum has a Star Wars exhibit that is getting ready to go to another location. We went this weekend so that Danny could see it. It was pretty weak, but Danny enjoyed it. Here, he is standing next to Jango Fett's helmet. They also had a few of the costumes on display- Anakin, Padme Amidalla and Mace Windu. Other than that, it was some character cut-outs. Danny is also very into mummy's right now. We thought the Egypt exhibit would have some, but they did not. The kids liked the play market place and maps though.
One of the displays that I like the most is a colored glass tower- below is a carousel that we are sitting on looking up at the spinning colors.
We bought Danny a picture atlas. Here he is showing Kona everywhere we traveled over the Christmas holiday? Kona is rivited!
