This weekend, we took the kids to an apple festival. They had a petting zoo, pony rides and lots of food. This was the first time Mia rode on a pony. She begged to "ride the pony now" the whole time we waited in line. She giggled the whole ride and said lots of "yee-ha's". Then I had to carry her kicking and screaming off of the pony. Here are some pictures.

Flag Footbal

Danny had his first flag football practice this morning. He seemed to like it, but I'm not sure he knows the rules yet. His team is 4 and 5 year old boys and 1 girl. Today they practiced catching the ball and pulling the flags. This is Danny taking the ball down the field.

Catching the ball.

The flags are a little hard to pull, they mostly end up pulling each other to the ground before the flag comes off.
We'll see how it goes, hopefully he'll have fun.

Gymnastics class

Mia had her second gymnastics class today. The class has one other girl in it, who is also 2. Her teacher has a ton of patience! Today both girls were running all over and not listening well. They practiced on the trampoline.
They practiced handstands.
And backflips.

More vacation pictures

My friend Karla sent some pictures that she took when we were down at the shore. This one is my favorite.

Mia had her "meet the teacher" today. It was an hour long class where I stayed with her. She did fine and seemed to like her teacher. I'm not worried about her adjusting at all. I don't even think she will realize that I'm not there next week.
waiting nicely in line for a stamp- we will get one every school day if we behave.
Danny had another great day at school. His teacher is no nonsense. They have things that they need to do when they arrive, such as find their nametag, write their name on the chalkboard and put their backpacks away. I don't think Danny has even thought about trying to talk his way out of all that. Something tells me he knows not to mess with Ms. Kaukab. But, he likes it and is excited to go. Hopefully next week will be just as good.

Frist day of Pre-K

Danny had his first day of Pre-K this morning. He was very excited to put on his new transformers backpack and get in the car. He seemed a little hesitant going into the classroom, but had a great day. Mia had her first day of gymnastics class today while Danny was at school. She did very well for her first time. She tried everything the instructor asked and had fun! I am going to try to get better pics on Thursday, when Mia has her first day of pre-school. Today, Mia got away from me, so I spent most of the time searching the other classrooms.
